Tamaqua man charged two days in a row
A Tamaqua man has been charged in two separate assaults against the same victim.
Jason Edward Bankes, 25, of Spruce Street, reportedly went into a bar on Cedar Street at 11:46 p.m. on Nov. 13 and attacked a man who was playing pool. The victim, who said he was punched several times, had a gash on the lip and several scratches on his face. During the assault a gold chain he was wearing was broken. The chain was valued at $350.
Bankes was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment.
The next day, Nov. 14, Bankes went to his victim’s place of employment, issuing threats and shoving the man in the chest.
He was cited for harassment in that case.
