Tamaqua man sentenced for DUI
A Tamaqua man charged with DUI and other offenses on Dec. 5, 2015, will spend a day at Schuylkill County Prison and pay more than $2,000 in fines and charges, in a decision by Schuylkill County Judge John Domalakes on June 14.
Christopher A. Rehrig, 30, was arrested by Tamaqua Police officer Collin Leibensperger.
For the charge of driving under the influence/controlled substance, Rehrig was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in county prison, given credit for two days served and sentenced to serve one more day. He must also pay a $1,000 fine, $75 to MCARE, $50 to CJEA, $100 to SAEF, $520 to Lehigh Valley Health Network, and $167.23 for a bench warrant fee.
He will undergo a license suspension for 12 months, must attend the Alcohol Highway Safety School and serve 10 hours community service.
In addition, Rehrig must pay $277 in fines and costs for a charge of driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked; $102 in fines for no rear lights, and $227 for the charge of obedience to traffic control device.
