Rush-Ryan Seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met Dec. 10 at Capriotti’s in McAdoo with 44 members in attendance for the club Christmas Party.
Christmas candy favors were donated by Gloria Gerhard and Neal Flexer and gingerbread cookies were donated by Ruthann Feane. Members of the club donated Christmas gifts that were chanced off. There were also company donations by Ryan Township Fire Rescue, Croll Oil Co. and Wos Wit. Many thanks to Jayne Mclaughlin and Gloria Gerhard for planning the event. Everyone was wished a Merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year.
The next meeting will be held on Jan. 14, weather permitting, at Christ Church, Barnesville. The group is open to anyone 55 or older and meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m.
St. John Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. combined worship and Sunday school program in St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Walk-through with acolytes for the Christmas Eve service will be held immediately after the morning service. Christmas Eve service will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 24.
Primitive Methodist
Children’s Christmas program will be held at 10:45 a.m. instead of the regular worship service at American Primitive Methodist Church. There are no Sunday school classes this week. A family Christmas dinner will be held immediately following the children’s program.
There will be a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. on Dec. 24. Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Hope in the Mountains, a Nar-Anon Family Group, meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending these meetings, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Dec. 12 at the Tamaqua YMCA for the group Christmas party with 68 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the festivities with the Lord’s Prayer. The event was catered by A&C of Mahanoy City.
Poinsettia plants and gifts, donated by Diane Gould and members were chanced off. Everyone was wished a Merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year.
The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at he YMCA. The next meeting will be held on Jan. 9, due to the holidays, and will be brown bag until further notice.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday in Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes will meet at 9:15 a.m.
A candlelight Christmas Eve service will be held at 4 p.m. and will include communion.
