Tamaqua seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Nov. 7 at the Tamaqua YMCA with 41 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the meeting with the reading “A Wish For You.”
Gus and Penny Schlorf and Alice Tite were added to the sick list. A moment to honor and remember our veterans was held in honor of Veterans Day.
The Christmas party will be held at noon on Dec. 12, catered by A&C Catering of Mahanoy City.
The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the YMCA. The next meeting will be Nov. 14, with refreshments being served.
American Primitive
Pastor Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9:30 a.m.
Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Hope in the Mountains, a Nar-Anon Family Group, meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending these meetings, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.
Coat sale
Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St., will hold a coat and Christmas item sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The kitchen will not be open.
Pie and filling sale
The culinary team at Zion Lutheran, Tamaqua, is offering homemade pies and potato filling for Thanksgiving.
Pumpkin custard, apple crumb and lemon sponge pies are offered at $7 each. Potato filling can be ordered by the tray ($10) or quart ($6)

Orders can be picked up Nov, 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran, Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets, Tamaqua.
Diaper Depot rescheduled
The Diaper Depot distribution at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua scheduled for Nov. 16 has been moved to Nov. 23. Diaper supplies have not arrived, necessitating the change of date. Clients will keep the same appointment times. Changes in diaper sizes or appointment times must be made by Nov. 20. Contact: gtay200@aol.com.
