Democratic Club
The Eastern Schuylkill County Democratic Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Elks Lodge, Tamaqua. For more information, call 570-668-6771.
Tamaqua seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Nov. 14 at the Tamaqua YMCA with 50 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the meeting with the reading “Take time to thank the Lord.”
Penny Schlorf was added to the sick list, and a warm welcome was extended to returning member Rose Vallee.
The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the YMCA. The next meeting will be held on Nov. 21 and refreshments will be served.
Community dinner
A buffet-style roast beef dinner will be held on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St.
There is a charge for the meal. Takeouts are available by calling 570-668-4630.
Rush-Ryan seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on Nov. 12 with 47 members in attendance. President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the reading “Divine Creation.”
Birthdays being celebrated in November include: Grace Sakusky, Doris Brobst, John Fredericks, Sharon Haldeman and Betty Bablo.
The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at Christ Church in Barnesville and is open to anyone 55 or older.
