St. John Lutheran

The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. Sunday service with Communion in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Sunday school/Confirmation is held at 10:30 a.m. It is also the last day to order poinsettias for Christmas Eve. Bell practice will be held at 8 a.m. Dec. 1.

Calvary Lewistown

The Rev. Susan Moore will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m. The annual Harvest and Thanksgiving service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with special music and sermonette by Terry Gerber. Harvest style refreshments will be served after the service.

There will be no prayer meeting Nov. 27. You are welcome to attend the Thanksgiving service at 8 a.m. at United Methodist Church, New Ringgold.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday in Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes will meet at 9:15 a.m.

Volunteers are needed to help decorate the church for Christmas at 9 a.m. on Nov. 29.

Zion Stone Church

Nov. 17 was a day to remember all of our local volunteers with a free breakfast. We wish to thank our local police, firefighters, EMT’s and elected officials for all of their service throughout the year.

On Nov. 24 we will be celebrating Christ the King Sunday at 9 a.m. This is the last Sunday before Advent begins Dec. 1. On this Sunday, we celebrate our Lord’s sovereign kingship — Jesus rules!

Zion’s Stone Church of West Penn Township is hosting a pork and sauerkraut dinner from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday. Adults 13 & over are $10; ages 4-12 are $5; under 4 free. The dinner features our own homemade sauerkraut, locally picked corn, and hot dogs for the kids. Takeouts and walk-ins are welcome. Seating will be in the fellowship hall — please come and enjoy.

Bethany EC

The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Sunday Life groups meet at 9:30 a.m.

Also on Sunday, Christian Ed, Care and Connection, Global Outreach and Discipleship Commission meetings will be held at noon.

Activities for the next week include: Monday, 5:30 p.m. Women’s Step Study; 5:45 p.m. Men’s Step Study, 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery. Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. TYM Remix, 7 p.m. GriefShare, 8 p.m. Worship practice. Nov. 30, 8:30 a.m. NAAM Breakfast.

Santa Breakfast

The Tamaqua Rotary and Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission are sponsoring a Santa Christmas breakfast and carnival on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. Contact the Tamaqua Salvation Army at 570-668-0410 for costs and reservations. Seating is limited. Bring your own camera for pictures with Santa.
