Tamaqua police

Arrest information recently received from Tamaqua Police included:

Dennis Walter Helfrich, 46, of 425 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness. Helfrich was found in an altered state on May 4 in the area of the Wine and Spirits Shoppe on Railroad Street. He was transported to St. Luke’s Miners Hospital in Coaldale.

Before being loaded in the ambulance, his pockets were searched, with officers finding two bundles of packets, suspected to be heroin.
