Tamaqua school board
Tamaqua Area School Board’s auxiliary committee on Tuesday recommended approving the following:
• The request of the Ski Club adviser for an out-of-state trip to Killington, Vermont, with early dismissal on March 9, and to return March 11.
• The request of the elementary principal for the fifth-grade West Penn students to take an out-of-state trip to Inner Harbor, Maryland, on May 4. The trip is sponsored by the West Penn PTO.
In other action
The board’s education committee recommended approval:
• Of the first reading of policies related to curriculum development, curriculum review by parents/students, exemption from instruction, adoption of textbooks, and instructional supplies.
• Of the 2018 annual letter of agreement with the ReDCo Group.
The board’s finance committee recommended approval:
• Of a three-year contract with Klacik and Associates as follows: 2017-18, $16,500; 2018-19, $16,700; 2019-2020, $16,900; and tax collector audit, $3,500.
