Tamaqua woman caught with drugs, cash

Published November 12. 2018 08:01AM

A Tamaqua woman was charged with drug-related offenses as a result of a state parole security check on Oct. 18.

Parole agents were at 35 Vine St., to conduct a check after a parolee notified him he was moving out of apartment 1 and into apartment 2.

The agents were assisted by Tamaqua police as they searched both apartments.

During the search several items were discovered, including 68 grams of suspected methamphetamine, three scales, empty baggies, a marijuana grinder with residue and $1,850 in cash.

Samantha Wagoner, 30, a resident of apartment 1, told officers the items were hers, not the parolee’s.

She also admitted the items were not for her personal use, but were for sale.

She was charged with possession with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua. Bail was set at $25,000, which she was initially unable to post.

She was lodged in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
