Thanksgiving baskets, Toys for Tots, Angel Tree program applications to be accepted

The Tamaqua Salvation Army will accept registrations for Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday assistance Oct 10-12.

Hours will be from noon to 6 p.m. each day. No registrations will be taken before or after that period.

Applicants must provide proof of physical address, a working telephone number, original birth certificates, Social Security cards for every household member, proof of all household income, expenses and a working phone number. No exemptions will be allowed.

Registrations will also be accepted for Toys For Tots and the Angel Tree program.

Thanksgiving baskets will be distributed from noon to 6 p.m. on Nov. 20, while the Christmas pick up, including Toys for Tots and the Angel Tree, will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Dec. 20.

A free, community Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 23.

Volunteers for all of these projects, as well as the annual Red Kettle campaign, are still needed. To volunteer, or for more information, call 570-668-0410.
