Thanksgiving dinners

• All Saints Episcopal Church, North Second and Coal streets, Lehighton, will hold a free community Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings from 4:30-7 p.m. tonight.

• Thanksgiving dinner will be served at Faith Alive Church in Bowmanstown on Saturday. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Dinner will be served from 1-3 p.m. Dine in only. No takeouts. All are welcome. For more information, call 610-852-3833, 610-767-4157 or 570-386-5586.

• Friedens Lutheran Church, 525 Church St., New Ringgold, is hosting a community Thanksgiving dinner from 3-6 p.m. Sunday. Come enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with friends. Free meal includes roasted turkey, potato filling, gravy, corn, green beans, candied sweet potatoes, lettuce with hot bacon dressing, cranberry sauce and salad and much more, including a large variety of desserts. No takeouts.

• A free community “turkey feast” will take place from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 21 Race St. in Jim Thorpe. For more information, call 570-325-2241.

• Meed’s United Methodist Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, will host a free Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday at the church. Seatings are 3 and 5 p.m.

To make a reservation for the dinner, call 570-645-5873 or leave a message on the church answering machine.

• St. John’s United Church of Christ, 15 S. Second St., Slatington, is offering a free Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 23. Dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m. No reservations are required, but are appreciated. All are welcome. Dinners will be delivered to “shut-ins” in the Northern Lehigh area, but calls for delivery must be received by Monday. Call the church office at 610-767-5554 to ask questions, make a reservation or request a home delivery. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday.

• The American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner at noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 23, Thanksgiving Day. It is free to those in need. Contact Cam Wilson at cameronwilson72@yahoo.com.

• Effort UMC is hosting a community Thanksgiving at the church beginning at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. All are welcome.
