Third annual Rocktoberfest this weekend in Lehighton
A blend of autumn-themed interests mixed in with an acoustic sound is about to fill the air this weekend.
Lehighton’s third annual Rocktoberfest will be held from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Sponsored by the Lehighton Downtown Initiative, the two-day event benefits breast cancer awareness.
The event is big on acoustic music, according to Bambi Elsasser, treasurer.
“We will be having bands and acoustic music playing the entire weekend in both of our beautiful parks,” Elsasser said.
On Saturday, Bedlam Blues will perform from noon to 2 p.m., Senile Delinquents, 2:30-4:30 p.m., The Left Edge, 5-7 p.m., and Blunt, 7:30-10 p.m.
Sunday’s entertainment will include Nightwind from noon to 2 p.m., Lenny & The Loafers, 2:30-4:30 p.m., and Jean and The American Dream, 5-7 p.m.
Elsasser said other activities will include a beer and wine garden, rides for kids, a car show, basket raffle, pallet painting classes, face painting, build your own scarecrow, pumpkin painting, bouncy houses, crafters, massages, a blacksmith and food vendors.
She said last year’s event raised $3,000 for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.
