Tire distribution center coming to Tobyhanna Township

American Tire Distributors has broken ground on a new distribution center in the New Ventures Park located on Commercial Boulevard in Blakeslee Village.

The new 1,000,000 square foot facility will be used to distribute tires to American Tire customers throughout the mid-Atlantic region. The company expects to create 80 new jobs at the Monroe County location.

American Tire Distributors is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is North America’s largest tire distributor offering products, programs and services to customers in the United States and Canada.

The project is part of an overall $1.7 million village gateway intersection project launched in May of 2017 at the entrance to the Village of Blakeslee.

The Liberty Travel Plaza truck stop, which houses a convenience store, gasoline and diesel fuel and Burger King, opened earlier this month at the intersection.
