Towamensing approves utility line relocation project
Towamensing Township’s board of supervisors approved a payment to PPL for a utility line relocation project during Thursday’s meeting.
The $13,853 payment will cover the costs of installing underground utility lines near the municipal building. It will be a small part of the redesign of the municipal grounds, which will include the installation of a new salt shed.
“Because of that, we can’t have that wire there. If a guy comes in with a front-end loader, and it hits that, we lose him. We don’t want that. For safety, we’re putting it underground,” vice chairman Thomas Newman said.
Newman said that the shed should be finished before the end of September, and that the power line relocation will take place before that.
