Towamensing students collect items for food pantry
Towamensing Elementary students took part in a soup collection, along with various other products, over the past week with items headed to the Palmerton Area Food Pantry. Student council member Dillon Borger said at last count, the school had collected 230 items, which included cans of soup, various fruits and vegetables, boxes of rice and macaroni and cheese, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. “I think it’s inspiring that a bunch of students would go out of their way to donate stuff for such a good cause and to help those who need it,” Borger and fellow student council member Brayden Newhard said. “It’s a really fun thing we do every year, and everyone chips in to help out.” Front row, from left, are Jacob Walkowiak, Dillon Borger, Lucian Sterling and Wyatt Spalding.
