Northwestern and Palmerton both recorded sweeps in track and field action on Tuesday.

Notre Dame-GP-

Northwestern

Northwestern swept Notre Dame-GP in a Colonial League meet.

In the boys’ meet, the Tigers prevailed 86-64, while the girls were victorious 95.5-54.5.

Phillip Castrine picked up victories in the 1600 and 3200 for Northwestern.

Alyssa Zack (800), Madeline Consuelos (1600) and Molly Tarvin (3200) helped the Tigers dominate the middle distance and distance events.

Palmerton rolled past Catasauqua in a Colonial League meet.

Jacob Martinez won the 800, 1600 and 3200 for the Blue Bombers, who cruised to a 122.5-23.5 victory in the boys’ meet. Jordan Nelson (110 H, long jump) and Michael Eckhart (100, triple jump) also were multiple- event winners.

Palmerton won the girls’ meet 89-57. Madison Martinez (100 H, 300 H) and Abigail Everett (shot put, discus) paced the Bombers.

Saucon Valley knocked off Northern Lehigh in a Colonial League meet.

The Panthers won the boys’ meet 88-61, and picked up a 84.5-65.5 in the girls’ contest.

Robert Shoff had a big day for the Bulldogs in the boys’ meet, winning the long jump, triple jump and high jump, while Seth Fronheiser won the 100 and 200.

Jillian Olewine (long jump, triple jump) and Franki Dibilio (shot put, discus) were multiple event winners for Northern Lehigh in the girls’ meet.
