Traffic stop yields drugs, wanted person

State police at the Lehighton barracks said they stopped a vehicle for numerous traffic violations and ended up discovering drugs in the car, as well as a wanted person.

The stop was made at 8:50 p.m. Thursday on Route 209, near South First Street, in Lehighton.

Police said the driver of the 2011 Honda sedan, was a 23-year-old woman from Lehighton, who police learned was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Police said a passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. He was taken into custody.
