Truck snaps pole in Mahoning

Mahoning Township emergency personnel were dispatched Thursday morning to a crash along Route 443. Upon arriving on scene they found a loaded cement truck on the south berm.

The operator of the truck said he passed out at the wheel while traveling west. The rig crossed the roadway, went off the road and hit a utility pole.

The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital. Mahoning township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. Mahoning township police are investigating the incident.
