Two facing charges after vehicle stop

Two people are facing charges following a vehicle stop that occurred at 8:26 p.m. Aug. 13.

State police at Lehighton said troopers stopped a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer along Interchange Road in Franklin Township, Carbon County. The driver, Sara Marshall, 19, of Lehighton, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence. She was taken for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.

A passenger in the vehicle, Holly Keiper, 20, of Nesquehoning, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She is facing drug charges. She was released at the scene.
