Two injured in motorcycle crash

Two people were injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred at 2:42 p.m. Sunday along Burger Hollow Road in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said David A. Evans, 40, of Effort, was operating a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan bike when it was involved in a crash with a passenger vehicle. The driver of the passenger vehicle fled the scene.

Evans and his passenger, a 14-year-old girl from Effort, sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital — Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance.

The investigation into the crash is continuing, troopers added.
