Vehicle in Kline Township crash had bald tires

Published June 26. 2019 08:10AM

The driver of a 2011 Nissan Versa that traveled off Interstate 81 and landed in the grass median area in Kline Township was cited by state police at the Frackville barracks for “tire equipment and traction surfaces.”

Police said the driver was south bound on the interstate during a heavy rainstorm when he failed to maintain his lane of travel. The Versa traveled off the east side of the road and landed in the median. The driver was uninjured.

Police said the vehicle’s rear tires had minimal thread on them. It was towed from the scene.
