The victim of a fatal assault in Schuylkill County that occurred over the weekend of Jan. 5-6, has been identified by state police.

Investigating Trooper Vincent A. Laselva said Terry Lynn Gee, 53, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, was beaten overnight of Jan. 5 and 6 at a campsite in Hegins Township.

Gee was found in the passenger seat of a Dodge Ram truck with severe head and neck trauma. She was taken to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment. After arriving at the hospital, it was determined she also had stab wounds and injuries hospital personnel said were consistent with strangulation.

She died at the hospital on Jan. 9.

Troopers said Gee was staying overnight at the Rausch Creek Trail Ridges campsite. Around 8 a.m. on Jan. 6, staff members of the campsite were contacted by a man who stays at the campsite. He was acting in an erratic manner and staff questioned him about where his girlfriend was.

Around 10:30 a.m., staff members drove to the man’s campsite and found Gee.

The cause of death has been ruled a homicide due to multiple traumatic injuries. Troopers have not released the name of the man involved.

Laselva said the investigation is continuing.
