W. Penn officials mull ways to address malfunctioning sewer system
West Penn Township officials continue to mull over the best method to address a malfunctioning sewer system in Andreas.
Township sewage enforcement officer Bill Brior attended the board’s recent meeting to discuss options for the sewage malfunction.
Options that were discussed included community wells, a community sewage system, or if the property owner adjacent from the malfunction would move a well at the cost of the malfunctioning property.
At that, supervisors requested a public meeting with the board and the sewage committee, and instructed township secretary Katie Orlick to send a letter to the Andreas residence about the meeting.
Supervisors initially discussed the matter at last month’s meeting, at which time it was noted there is a failed sewage system that has been ongoing for about a year or so and needs to be fixed.
In the meantime, a holding tank has been put in as a temporary solution, supervisors said.
