Walker adopts budget with no tax increase

Published December 15. 2017 01:14PM

Walker Township residents won’t have to dig deep into their wallets next year.

Not after the township’s board of supervisors on Thursday unanimously approved the 2018 budget with no increase in the municipal property tax rate.

Supervisor Craig Wagner said taxes will remain level next year.

“Happy to announce that there’s no tax increase,” Wagner said.

Next year’s spending plan will once again leave the property tax rate at 5.54 mills.

The last time the board raised the millage was in 2015, when it upped the rate by 0.5 mills.
