Walnutport to advertise for bids for water main replacement project

Walnutport plans to advertise for bids for a water main replacement project in the spring.

It was noted under borough engineer Jason Newhard’s report at Thursday’s borough council’s meeting that the preliminary design on the water main has started.

Council is targeting advertising for bids in April with a bid award in May, for the water main replacement and street overlay in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue (First Avenue to Route 145).

That came after council last month agreed to proceed with design and bidding for the water main replacement project.

Newhard said at that time the borough has a $200,000 Community Development Block Grant for water main replacement, storm sewer upgrades and to redo the road on south Lincoln Avenue.
