Walnutport to bid out water main replacement project
A water main replacement project is set to go out to bid in Walnutport.
Borough council unanimously agreed on Thursday to proceed with design and bidding for the water main replacement and street overlay in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue (First Avenue to Route 145).
Borough engineer Jason Newhard said the borough has a $200,000 Community Development Block Grant for water main replacement, storm sewer upgrades and to redo the road on south Lincoln Avenue.
Also under Newhard’s report, it was noted the borough received and is reviewing the shop drawings for the traffic light improvement project at Best Avenue and Main Street.
Additionally, the borough is also waiting the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency’s decision on funding before proceeding with the permit for the Lock 23 retaining wall and repairs.
