WALNUTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL

Walnutport Borough Council, on a 4-0 vote, with council members Harold Greene, Joan Rehrig, and council President William Turk absent, took the following action at its workshop on Thursday:

• Agreed to release budgeted donations to Diamond Fire Company ($28,000); Northern Lehigh Recreation Authority ($6,210); NOVA ($5,000); and fire police ($2,000).

• Agreed to change the police Wi-Fi and the road foreman cell coverage to FirstNet.

• Approved a $600 education request for police Sgt. Jason Nothstein.

• Agreed to grant a trapping permit to Ronald Prutzman.

• Announced that the borough has received an invitation to attend Slatington’s National Night Out from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Slatington Volunteer Fire Department.
