Walnutport man cited after crash

Nicholas F. Selvaggi, 22, of Walnutport, was cited by state police at the Lehighton barracks for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday on Hahn’s Dairy Road in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Toyota Matrix southeast, north of the Little Gap Road, when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road and lost control of the vehicle. It proceeded to exit the travel lane, crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a boulder with its front driver’s side. The vehicle then continued back onto the roadway and traveled a short distance before coming to final rest off the road.

Police said the vehicle sustained heavy damaged and needed to be towed from the scene. Selvaggi was uninjured.
