Walnutport has received an additional $20,000 grant for a water main replacement project.

Borough grant coordinator Michael Wentz announced at Thursday’s workshop session that the borough received the funding courtesy of the Community Investment Partnership Program through Northampton County.

Wentz said that pushes the total amount the borough has to $320,000 for the Lincoln Avenue water main replacement project.

He said the project is a joint venture between the borough and the Walnutport Municipal Authority, and will replace the water main, fire hydrants, service lines and storm sewer if needed, from North Best Avenue to Third Avenue.

Wentz said the project will be bid out and completed in 2020.

The borough previously received $300,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the project.
