Wassmer receives citations

Edward Wassmer Jr., a resident at MapleShade Meadows in Nesquehoning, was given several citations by Harry Wynn III of American Legion Post 314 in a special Ceremony on Sept. 23.
Citations included The American Legion of Lehighton Post 314 Citation for Meritorious Service; citations from state Sen. John T. Yudichak and state Rep. Doyle Heffley; and a Certificate of Special Recognition from the United States Congress from U.S. Sen. Patrick Toomey.
Wassmer was recognized for his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII as well as his membership in the American Legion Post 314 of Lehighton, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
