Weather cancellations, Jan. 8

The following schools have early dismissal:

Jim Thorpe, high school dismissing at 11 a.m., elementary at 11:30 a.m.

Jim Thorpe has canceled the school board meeting tonight.

Lehighton, middle school and high school at 11:15 a.m., elementary at noon

Northern Lehigh School District schools will dismiss at 10:30 am.  Slatington Elementary will dismiss at 11:30am, and Peters Elementary at 12:30pm. Lunches will not be served. All afterschool sports and activities are canceled. Tonight’s School Board meeting is also canceled.

Palmerton, junior/senior high at 11:30 a.m. and elementary at noon.

Panther Valley, high school at 11 a.m., elementary and intermediate at noon.

Pleasant Valley is dismissing early. High school is dismissing at 10:25 a.m., middle school at 10:42 a.m., intermediate school at 11:45 a.m. and elementary school at 11:52 a.m.

Tamaqua schools are dismissing early  today. High school is dismissing at  10:30 a.m., elementary at 11:10 a.m.

Weatherly,  11 a.m. for the High School and noon for the Elementary today.  

The following games have been postponed to a later date:

The Jim Thorpe at Pine Grove boys game is postponed. The game will be made up on Jan. 10.

The Jim Thorpe at North Schuylkill girls game is postponed. No makeup date has been announced.

The Moravian Academy at Northern Lehigh girls is postponed. The game will be made up on Jan. 22.

Shenandoah Valley girls basketball game will be postponed. The make-up date will be Tuesday at home. The JV game will still start at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow.
