Weatherly council

Weatherly Borough Council acted on the following items during its last meeting.

• Approved a request to hold Christmas in the Park at Eurana Park from 4-8 p.m. on Dec. 9.

• Approved Mayor Tom Connors’ request to use the Eurana Park parking lot as a staging area for a motorcycle cruise benefiting the Carbon County Animal Shelter on Sept. 30.

• Directed the borough manager to have an engineer assess the structural integrity of a historic engine works property owned by the borough, particularly the tops of the walls, because the building has no roof.

• Purchased four trash cans for the downtown area.

• Approved a request to hold the Weatherly Festival in Eurana Park on Aug. 24 and 25.
