Published March 22. 2019 10:38AM

Weatherly Borough Council recently acted on the following items during its monthly meeting.

• The ambulance will have a Mother’s Day raffle on May 6, a Father’s Day raffle on June 18 and a hoagie sale. Councilwoman and ambulance board member Theresa D’Andrea said the events will “let the community know that we’re really trying, and we will be around the community as much as we can.”

• Council made a $500 donation to the American Legion women’s auxiliary for the Memorial Day parade.

• Council authorized a handicap parking space for an elderly resident.

• Council discussed snow plowing on Commerce Street, a public street which is used largely by Weatherly Casting. Harold Farrow said the borough should plow the street as a courtesy to a longtime business which supports local events. Farrow said the Weatherly Hillclimb would not exist without the support of the foundry’s owner.
