Weatherly students win at computer fair
Several Weatherly Area High School students won awards at the 2019 PA High School Regional Media and Design Competition, which was held at Lehigh Carbon Community College on March 12. Winners include front row, from left: Katie Graham and Kailyn Jones, third place Digital Video; with Abby Hernandez, Kassandra Mendoza and Mason Podgers, first place in Animation. Second row: Mason Stewart and Owen Stewart, who took third place in Computer Programming; with James Gontz and Stephen MacNeal, second place in Animation. Absent from the photo are Anthony Magushack, first place in 3D Design; and Lillian Newton, first place in Digital Video. First-place winners will compete in the 2019 PA State Media and Design Competition, to be held at Dickenson College in Carlisle on May 21. James Pino is the students’ computer science teacher.
