Kunkletown pantry
The Kunkletown Food Pantry at the Eldred Community Center on Kunkletown Road, will have a distribution from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Free food is provided free of charge to West End residents and neighboring towns.
To register, bring a photo ID and also bags for items that may be received.
Special blessing
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert has invited all its college students, new and returning, for a special blessing and remembrance from the parish family at all the Masses on Saturday and Sunday.
Salem’s preacher
Salem UCC in Gilbert is slated to welcome Kaye Lentz as preacher Sunday. Holy Communion will be part of the 10 a.m. worship service.
Soup sale
Effort UMC is holding a soup sale from Sunday through Aug. 19.

Ross supervisors
The Ross Township Board of Supervisors meets on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Ross Township municipal building on Anchorage Road in Saylorsburg.

Effort UMC’ s Prayer Shawl Ministry is slated to meet beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Chestnuthill board
The Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building in Brodheadsville.
Heritage crafts
Quiet Valley, Monroe County’s living historical farm, will hold Heritage Craft Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 11. It is the 12th annual event.
It is a day to watch heritage crafts being demonstrated and an opportunity to try them out.

Mission speakers
St. Peter’s UMC in Saylorsburg will welcome two mission speakers from Delaware Water Gap at its 10 a.m. service on Aug. 12.
Nancy Gould and Sandy Rader will speak about Alice Visionary Foundation Project, an international nongovernmental organization registered with the Kenya government since September 2010 and also a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in the United States. It was founded with a mission of caring and supporting the vulnerable group who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS epidemic.
They are board members of the AVFP team and are preparing to return to Kenya in September.
They will also perform special music during St. Peter’s service.
The church offers a large parking facility, air-conditioned sanctuary, and fellowship hour with coffee and treats following worship.

Blood drive
Cornerstone Community Church, on Polk Township Road in Kresgeville, is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15.
Golf benefit
Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has announced its annual golf tournament. It will be held at the Great Bear Golf Club on Sept. 21.
This is the 22nd event and through the past 21 years it has raised more than $152,000, of which 100 percent has benefited the group’s mission that everyone in Monroe County have a safe and decent place to live.
