West End news for Dec. 26, 2018

No services
The Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, has announced that the church offices will be closed today and that there will be no evening services or activities.
In addition, on Monday there will be no PVCO dinner or bread pickup, but the church offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rescheduled meeting
Eldred Township’s Board of Supervisors meeting scheduled for last week is rescheduled for 4 p.m. Friday.
Regional meeting
The next Chestnuthill-Jackson-Eldred-Ross-Polk Comprehensive meeting is 7 p.m. Thursday. The group meets at the Chestnuthill Township municipal building in Brodheadsville.
Carols in worship
Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kresgeville will celebrate the First Sunday of Christmas with worship and carols at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. and Confirmation at 9 a.m.
At 2 p.m. the church will lead worship at the Getz Personal Care Home in Jonas.
New Year’s celebration
Effort UMC will hold New Year’s Eve celebration from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday. It is planned to be a covered dish evening with board games, fellowship and laughter.
Monroe Seniors
The Chestnuthill group of Monroe County Seniors meeting at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville will gather from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, as well as next Wednesday.
However, menu choices have not yet been received at this office.
