AARP tax help
Qualifying West Enders can get AARP tax preparation help at Salem UCC in Gilbert from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays on a first-come, first-served, basis.
Bring identification as well as Social Security cards for yourself and any dependents; insurance information, especially if receiving insurance under the Affordable Care Act; and also bring a 2017 tax return and all tax documents necessary for 2018 returns.
Mission meal
West End Mission Meals will be offered at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Gilbert, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Regional meeting
The regional comprehensive group for Chestnuthill, Jackson, Eldred, Ross and Polk meets at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Chestnuthill Township municipal building on Route 715.
PVIS PTO
The Pleasant Valley Intermediate School PTO meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Polk Parks & Rec
The monthly meeting of Polk Township’s Park & Recreation Committee is at 6 p.m. Thursday. The township is looking for members to join the committee.

Democrats meet
The West End Democratic Club meeting is 7 p.m. Thursday at the West End Fire House on Route 715 in Brodheadsville.
School board
The Board of Education for the Pleasant Valley School District meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in the district office.
Monroe seniors
The Chestnuthill group of Monroe County seniors meets Friday.
The regular lunch for Friday is pierogis, collard greens, sliced carrots and sliced peaches. The light lunch for Friday is spinach salad, potato salad, mango, Jell-O and juice.
The regular lunch for next Wednesday is chicken cacciatore, orzo Italiano, Italian green beans and a banana. The light lunch is Italian antipasto, carrot sticks, mandarin oranges, yogurt and juice.
Doors open at 9 a.m. both days, and coffee and tea is available.
On Friday there will be a paint and sip time with Laura Pride at 9:30 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m. next Wednesday, there will be a plant clinic. The lunch hour begins at 11:30 a.m.
