Exercise classes
The West End Park & Open Space Commission offers fitness classes designed for individuals. Classes are held at the Chestnuthill Park in Brodheadsville. Walk-ins accepted. There is a fee.
FITDANCE, similar to ZUMBA, is held every Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m.
PiYo, which combines Pilates and yoga, is held on Tuesdays from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m.

Monroe CWU meets
Church Women United of Monroe County invites everyone to its business meeting at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Hughes Library, 1002 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg. The group will meet in the Community Room on the first floor.
In case of inclement weather and schools are closed, there is no meeting.

Free program
Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center has announced Lilliana’s Nature Discovery Area Exploration Focus on Early Signs of Spring.
The Nature Discovery Area is the first of its kind in Monroe County and includes a canoe, tunnel, xylophone, talking tubes and much more.
On Saturday, between 9 a.m. and noon, go on a scavenger hunt looking for early signs of spring. We may make some crafts and may get messy. Participants are asked to dress warmly and wear appropriate footwear because this activity will take place outside.
The program is free.

Post cleanup
Legion Post 927 in Gilbert is holding its monthly cleanup session Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. Tools are provided.
PV events
The Pleasant Valley School District spring clothing swap is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the elementary school cafeteria.
The PVIS PTO basket auction is also on the calendar for Saturday.
Men’s group meets
Effort UMC’s 2-year-old Men’s Group will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. For information, contact sjsa@ptd.net.
Worship Walk
Salem-St. Paul’s in Kresgeville is holding another Worship Walk this Saturday. This one will take place in Jim Thorpe.
The group will leave the church at 11 a.m.
The snow/rain date is next Saturday.

Fly-fishing program
Monroe County Conservation District and Brodhead Trout Unlimited present an introduction to fly-fishing program.
The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center.
Equipment, casting, strategy, fly-tying, basic trout stream macro-invertebrate entomology and local fishing will be covered and demonstrated.

Pocono LAMA meets
The Latin American Motorcycle Association, Pocono Chapter, will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Sunday at the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert.
Special dinner
A St. Patrick’s Day buffet dinner will be held at American Legion Post 927 home in Gilbert from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are limited though the event is open to all. The dinner includes corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, potatoes, games, Irish music, door prizes.

Family Table returns
St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, has announced that Family Table will be held this Sunday. It is the only Family Table service for the month.
Others will be on May 19, July 21, Sept. 15 and Nov. 17.
Monday tea party
The Western Pocono Women’s Club will be holding its first meeting of 2019 at 7 p.m. Monday at Effort UMC. Attendees may use the elevator if unable to use the steps.
The speaker will be Elizabeth Bogart, who will share information about the Street2Feet organization.
Serving refreshments, with the theme of Tea Party, will be Linda Bryfogle, Sue Esopo, Mary Minnucci, Pat Mackes and Pat Walizer. Attendees are asked to bring a favorite tea cup and saucer. A spring hat or bright colored outfit can also set the mood of the evening.
Nominations for the 2019-20 slate of officers will be accepted. This year’s nominating committee is: Gail Schellman, Mary Minnucci, Linda Holms and Dottie Sawyer.
The Quilts Made with Love group from the membership will meet again to make more quilts at the home of member Pat Mackes at 9:30 a.m. March 21.
Already registered members will be attending the Northeastern District Spring Meeting and Festival of the Arts Day on March 23, in Clarks Summit.
Diversity meeting
The Pleasant Valley Diversity Task Force is scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the District office in Brodheadsville.
Shawl ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting at Effort UMC will again gather to do blessed stitchery for others from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Newcomers are welcome.
Chestnuthill meeting
The Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors is slated to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Planning Commission follows the next day, also at 7 p.m.
Both meet at the municipal building on Route 715.
PVES PTO
The Pleasant Valley Elementary School PTO will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Ross meetings
The Ross Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Ross Township Municipal Building, 250 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg. The Zoning Hearing Board meets on an as-needed basis.
PVMS PTO
The Pleasant Valley Middle School is set to meet at 9:45 a.m. March 20.
Lioness meet
The board of directors for the Western Pocono Lioness Club will meet at noon March 20. Club members may join that meeting.
Free dinner
Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, will host a free community dinner at 5 to 6:30 p.m. March 20.
Band concert
The PVIS Beginning Band concert is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 20.
Eldred Supervisors
The Eldred Township Supervisors meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7 p.m. The next meeting is planned for March 20. Call the township to confirm at 610-381-4252.

March meeting
The Western Pocono Lions March dinner meeting and board meeting will be held on March 21 at Cherry’s on Route 209 in Kresgeville. The board will meet at 6 p.m. and the members can begin to order off the menu at 6:30 p.m. The dinner meeting is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Summer Imagination
The Pocono Family YMCA wants kids to Awaken Summer Imagination.
On April 27, the Pocono Family YMCA will be holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active at the annual YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day.
From 1 to 4 p.m. there will be swimming, dancing, arts and crafts, face painting, games, healthy snacks and camping information.
