Homemade filling
St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, is taking orders for homemade filling for Thanksgiving. The order deadline is this Friday. The filling pickup is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22.

Clothing swap
The Pleasant Valley School District winter clothing swap is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. It is taking place at the Elementary School.
Post cleanup
Saturday, at 9 a.m., begins the monthly cleanup at the American Legion Post home in Gilbert. No equipment needed, but helping hands are most welcome.
Vendors wanted
The West End Park & Open Space Commission is having a craft/gift fair at the Chestnuthill Park in Brodheadsville from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
There will be vendors for crafts, gifts, art, direct sellers. There will be door prizes and concessions.

Wellness workshop
Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center has announced its Wellness Workshop for 10 a.m. Saturday. At the workshop, learn how to support the body naturally through the use of essential oils.
Make rollers and sprays to incorporate into your daily wellness routine and sail through the season merrily.

Christmas bazaar
Monroe Animal League will host its annual Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Post 2540, Fawn Road, East Stroudsburg.
There will be many bargains and adorable Christmas gifts and ornaments. All proceeds benefit the animals of Monroe County, and help fund the spay/neuter programs that Monroe Animal League Supports.
There will also be a cash drawing.

Bake sale held
Blessed Beginnings Preschool at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Gilbert, is holding its annual bake sale Saturday and Sunday. The sale is open to the public. It will take place after the Saturday Mass, at 4 p.m., and the Sunday Masses, at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
One hundred percent of the sale benefits the preschool.
Benefit concert
Project One Step benefit concert for Fill a Glass With Hope will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Stroudsburg Area High School auditorium, 110 W. Main St., Stroudsburg.
Pepper Choplin, composer, conductor, humorist, along with the Project One Step Community Choir and the Pocono Community Orchestra will be performing. Admission is free, however donations are gratefully received.
Effort UMC’s food pantry is one of the food pantries in the area that is a recipient of the fresh milk through a grant.

Blood drive
An American Red Cross blood drive is being held at the Rimrock Masonic Center on Rimrock Drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday.
Next Wednesday, a Miller-Keystone drive is taking place, beginning at noon, at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville.
Polk Supervisors
The board of supervisors for Polk Township is slated to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the township office in Kresgeville. The proposed budget for next year is scheduled to be presented.
Women’s Club meets
The Western Pocono Women’s Club is slated to meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Effort UMC.
The Honorable Colleen Mancuso, Magisterial District Judge of 43-3-04 whose office is in Brodheadsville, will be the speaker. She will be advising the group about “Getting Our Affairs in Order.”
The quilters in the group, 11 strong in October, completed 16 lap quilts for clients of Meals on Wheels and for Children and Youth Services in Monroe County. The group anticipates meeting again on Oct. 21.
Shawl ministry
The Prayer Shawl ministry group at Effort UMC will meet again at 10 a.m. Tuesday to create their works of caring.
Newcomers are welcome.
PVES PTO meeting
The Pleasant Valley Elementary School PTO is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Lioness meet
The Western Pocono Lioness Club will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville. District 14-U Governor will be the guest speaker. It will be a game night. Attendees are asked to bring 12 pennies and a game of their choice.
Watershed Conservancy
The Aquashicola Pohopoco Watershed Conservancy will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 19, at the Polk Township municipal building on Polk Township Road in Kresgeville.
Republicans meet
The West End Republican Club will meet on Tuesday in light of the following week’s Thanksgiving holiday.
The meeting is held at Cherry’s Family Restaurant in Kresgeville, beginning at 7 p.m. Those wishing to eat dinner on site should arrive at 6 p.m.
Chestnuthill Supervisors
The Chestnuthill Township board of supervisors is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building on Route 715 in Brodheadsville.
The township Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 20, at the township complex as well.
Free dinner
Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, is serving a free dinner at 5 p.m. Nov. 20.
Annual craft show
The Western Pocono Community Library, Brodheadsville, is holding its 39th annual craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 23. The show features handmade arts or crafts and vendors who sell Avon, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, etc.
Craft/vendor fair
The Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Fire Company Auxiliary is having a craft/vendor fair and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24. All are welcome and can have a picture taken with Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Log Cabin Star quilt raffle drawing will take place and there will also be a bake sale and lunch will be served. Residents and friends are invited to come and support this local fire company.
The firehouse is located on Route 115 across from Ye Olde Saylors Inn in Saylorsburg.

Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center has announced its annual Sponsor-A-Maple Tree fundraising program.
Sponsoring a tree gives one Certificate of Sponsorship, a map of the sugarbush showing the location of one’s tree, a pint of MCEEC’s own pure maple syrup and free admission for up to four people to the annual Public Maple Sugaring Day on March 7, 2020.
