Band Parents
Pleasant Valley Band Parents meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school band room.
Blood drives
American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday.
People can donate blood and Power Red.
A Miller-Keystone blood drive will be held at the Western Pocono Community Library beginning at noon Nov. 15.
Craft/gift fair
The West End Park and Open Space Commission will have a craft/gift fair from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Chestnuthill Park in Brodheadsville.
Tricky Tray
Our Lady Queen of Peace will hold an orphan tricky tray from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
New leadership
The West End Democratic Club elected its new officers as its last meeting. Serving in the next program year will be: Julia Carter, president; Kathleen Frisby-Burch, vice president; Erika Engle-Weiss, secretary; and Candy Burger, treasurer.
World Day
Church Women United of Monroe County invites everyone to celebrate World Community Day at noon Saturday. Host church is St. John’s Catholic on Milford Road (Route 209), East Stroudsburg. Attendees are asked bring a covered dish to share.

Show & Tell
The Heritage Center of the Western Pocono Community Library on Bond Lane in Brodheadsville is holding a historical show and tell from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Pork & Sauerkraut
Effort UMC is hosting a pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. For costs or other information, call the church at 570-629-1890.
Special Sunday
Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will celebrate Holy Communion at both the 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. worship services Sunday and will also remember those who were baptized and died in recognition of All Saint’s Day.
Zion Lutheran will be decorated with white carnations in remembrance of people who have died.
St. Matthew’s UCC in Kunkletown will celebrate All Saint’s Day at its 9 a.m. service. Families will have the opportunity to light a candle in their loved one’s honor.
The Lord’s Supper will be shared.
Guest speaker
McMichaels UMC will have a guest speaker at its 9 a.m. worship service Sunday.

The Sons of the American Legion will meet at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Legion Post Home in Gilbert.
Park fundraiser
The Western Pocono Memorial Park Committee is hosting a Coach, Vera Bradley & Longaberger Bingo on Sunday at the West End Fire Company on Route 715 in Brodheadsville. Doors open at noon and bingo starts at 1 p.m.
Refreshments such as turkey barbecue, hot dogs, pulled pork, pierogies, homemade soup, baked goods and drinks will be available.

Pie crust sale
Zion Lutheran is holding a pie crust sale. Orders for single crust or double crust will be accepted at 570-992-6988 until Nov. 6. They are made in a 9-inch aluminum pie pan.
Ross Supervisors
Ross Township supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Ross Township Municipal Building on Anchorage Road in Saylorsburg.
Election Day
Check with your respective municipality as to where the polls are for Election Day. The Ross Township election site will be St. Peter’s UMC yet this year. Next year’s elections will be held at the municipal building on Anchorage Road.
Chestnuthill supervisors are slated to meet that Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the township municipal building in Brodheadsville.
Prayer shawl
The Prayer Shawl group at Effort UMC will convene again at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
PVEN Board
The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network board of directors will meet at 10 a.m.
Painting party
West End Park & Open Space Commission is hosting a Merry Christmas painting party from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Chestnuthill Park Building in Brodheadsville. Included for the registration fee will be canvas, art supplies, Merry Christmas sticker, professional instruction, light refreshments and fun.
