West Penn fire company praised for new firetruck

A parade and dedication for West Penn Township Fire Company’s new engine has received rave reviews from a township official.

Board of Supervisors Chairman Tony Prudenti on Monday complimented the fire company for the events surrounding its new firetruck.

Prudenti described the festivities as being “very heartwarming,” specifically the part where the engine was dedicated to Wayne Troxell, 87.

Troxell — who has had heavy involvement with the fire company over the years — christened the fire engine as the crowd watched.

“These are our first responders; hats off to these guys,” Prudenti said. “They are our unsung heroes.”

• Agreed to place approved meeting minutes on the township’s website.
