WEST PENN TOWNSHIP

West Penn Township supervisors, on a 2-0 vote with board Chairman Tony Prudenti absent, took the following action last week:

• Accepted the planning commission’s recommendation to give conditional approval to the Bensinger property subdivision, contingent upon the applicant addressing all outstanding items in the engineer’s review letter dated May 23, and adopted a resolution conditionally approving the plan.

• Approved a resolution to add stop signs at Wash Creek Road, northbound; and Locust Lane, eastbound.

• Announced that a resurfacing project planned for Route 309 from Route 895 to Route 443 Penn Drive (total construction length of about 5.12 miles), is scheduled to begin in 2022, pending funding approval under the state Transportation Improvement Plan.

• Awarded bids for pipe to Chemung Supply Corp., material to Lehigh Asphalt Paving, and seal coat to Asphalt Maintenance Solutions LLC.
