West Penn Township Supervisors

West Penn Township supervisors took the following action Monday morning:

• Agreed to disperse the Fire Relief Money of $29,139 to the West Penn Township Fire Co. 1 Relief Association.

• Agreed to spend $1,300 for the purchase of a new computer for the township secretary.

• Announced that the next Comprehensive Plan Advisory Meeting has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at the annex.

• Announced that the Zoning Update Committee meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the annex.

• Announced that the planning meeting scheduled for Sept. 24 has been canceled.

• Announced that the Schuylkill County fall cleanup will be held Oct. 10-12. Participation forms have to be in by Sept. 26.

• Announced that the West Penn Township Lions Club & Andreas Sporting Club have requested Route 895 in the Village of Andreas to be closed from 7 p.m. until the end of the parade on Oct. 16.

• Announced that Tamaqua Borough has requested assistance from the West Penn fire police to help with their Halloween parade at 7 p.m. Oct. 22, with a rain date of 7 p.m. Oct. 23.
