Where do loyalties lie?
There used to be an old slogan, “My Country, Right or Wrong.” If the Republicans were to update it now, it would say “My President, Right or Wrong.” It’s apparent that loyalty to Trump supersedes allegiance to our country, or to our Constitution. This impeachment trial revealed the depths to which Republicans will sink in their efforts to excuse anything Trump has done.
Whether it’s lying about their secret talks with Russians about “getting election dirt” in 2016, or coercing the president of Ukraine into doing what Trump demands in 2019. The pattern of self-serving abuse of power is the same.
Our Congress voted to give almost $400 million to Ukraine to help them resist the Russian invasion of their country.
Already, over 15,000 of their people have died in that war. Trump held up that money in an effort to force Ukraine’s President Zelenski to say he was suddenly going to investigate his opponent’s son, Hunter Biden. Just for Trump’s personal gain. No evidence exists of wrongdoing. And while there are witnesses to this crooked deal, Trump forbade all eight of them to testify. What was he afraid of?
Worse still are the obedient Republican senators who refused to allow the witnesses to speak. They feared the president’s revenge so much that they were willing to abandon their honor, their oaths, the search for truth.
And true to form, Trump has already started a dictatorial-type “purge” of the honorable people who told the truth.
Today’s Republicans shame our Founding Fathers, who risked their LIVES to establish our democracy. This group won’t even risk their seats …

Linda,
Thanks for this letter. Keep the faith. We will take our Country Back. The woman's Vote in 2018 changed things....it will again. The Republican Party has shown who it is from not voting to increase the minimum wage in PA to being complicit in allowing this Occupant to behave in despicable ways.
Sociology 101- "The Milgram Experiment"
Psychologist Stanley Milgram wanted to understand peoples behavior during W.W. II.
How obedience to Authority continued even knowing it was wrong and it hurt people.
In 2014, many Republicans and Democrats in Congress shared the desire to send military equipment to Ukraine in hopes to help them resist the military invasion from Russia.
The Obama administration refused to provide lethal weapons for fear of escalating tensions.
President Poroshenko made clear, Russia started the war by invaded/annexing Crimea.
It was shameful for Obama's denial to provide that country lethal weapons and to ignore the unanimous vote of Senate Foreign Relations Committee to provide Ukraine with anti-tank anti-armor weapons and ammunition. But one thing Obama was good at, was showing his gutless weakness with Russia and China.
Obama eventually provided pop-tarts and pup tents.
Trump provided Model M107A1 Sniper Systems, ammunition, and Javelin antitank missiles.
Look Linda, you can't win wars with blankets and pop-tarts.
Did you see when Barack was caught on that hot mic. blowing kisses to Vlad? Check that out.
Oh... this Hunter Biden thing? It's never been investigated, but it is now. Why don't we all just wait and see what comes of it.
We don't need an alliance with Ukraine. I find it amazing how you and the democrats care so much about the integrity of Ukraine's borders, calling it vital to our "National Interest", yet couldn't give a damn about our own border.
What is harmful for our nation, is the in fighting over Ukraine. None of it really matters to the people like me and you. Now for Hillary, Hunter and Ole Uncle Joe? Another story, for another time. Just stay tuned. I'm still trying to figure out who ever uses that silly saying besides you, and for what purpose.
