Wolf signs bill to clarify armed school security options

Published July 03. 2019 05:46AM

HARRISBURG (AP) — Gov. Tom Wolf is signing legislation that his office says clarifies the options for who school districts and private schools can hire as armed security guards, although Wolf’s administration says it bars districts from allowing teachers to be armed.

The bill Wolf signed Tuesday also expands training requirements for armed school officers.

It says schools can hire armed security guards on contract, as long as they meet certain certification standards. It also expands the definition of a school officer to include a county sheriff or deputy sheriff. Wolf’s office says schools were already employing both.

In a statement, Wolf says teachers cannot be considered security personnel, and aren’t authorized to be armed in schools under any law in Pennsylvania.

Most Democratic lawmakers opposed the bill, saying allowing more guns into school won’t solve school shootings.

Wolfe is another liberal idiot who doesn’t think the second amendment exists. When I was a kid we brought our guns to school in our vehicles & went hunting after school. Heck the teachers would even operate the actions in the parking lot. Sure a lot has changed with all these unnecessary shootings but the good guys need to defend themselves. The bad guys will always find a way to get a gun that’s the part most gun control people just can’t seem to understand. Tom Wolfe will be one of the worse governors this state ever had. He doesn’t need to worry as his family is protected by the state police & body guards.
This is important...
The first reason we have Wolf as a Governor, is he was pumped up with MAJOR $$$$ from the Teachers Union.
The second reason is because of a silly game... Penn State Football and the silly PSU Alumni.
Wolf should never have been elected, as he comes against the "Heartland" of Pennsylvania.
The Democrats will stop at nothing to elect another governor, and the teachers will continue to willingly offer the sacrifice (union dues) to their god-like union.
He is a poor governor, and you can thank a teacher for him.
Say... why do teachers continue to pay union dues, when they no longer have to? Lemmings of a sort I guess? To educated to think for themselves? I dunno?
T2C you are a rude vulgar low IQ punk that needs a lesson in respect...real bad. If you are a juvenile, you should stay off this site till your brain develops. If you are an adult, you exhibit mental dysfunction that threatens yourself and society. You are just a little punk with a big mouth. President Trump should sue you for using his name in vain. Then we will see “how stupid you are!” You need a mental intervention. Joke on you...brudda! I will save a seat for you at the Trump Parade tomorrow. Bring your emotional support bunny rabbit and watch the tanks roll by. America is great! MAGA!
There are still many good teachers who would be as good as any good security person, but this governor must not think teachers are responsible enough to train? You tell me.
Well I grew up in a hunting family and I took the NRA course but would never join that radicle group, even when they had a woman from the group call me. The GOP hates rules, and regulations, etc. because they want to run amok and do as they please, forget about the safety and health of the majority and basically common sense. And.... we all know the bad guys will always get guns.
This is why women shouldn’t be allowed to vote. The NRA a radical group???? What planet do you live on? They promote gun safety to adults & children. If it wasn’t for the NRA we would’ve been stripped of our second amendment probably under Obummer. Oh that’s right you are probably one of those women who fell for his charm and charisma ha ha!!!!
