Woman admits to drug dealing, faces long state prison term

A Kunkletown woman admitted to drug-dealing and related charges on Monday afternoon in Carbon County court and faces a long state prison term at the time of sentencing.

Holly Ann Eckhart, 53, entered guilty pleas before Judge Steven R. Serfass to one count each of corrupt organization, criminal conspiracy — possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Eckhart was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by agents of the state Attorney General’s office, local police and the county drug task force.

On March 15, 2016, police served a search warrant on a residence along Fritz Valley Road in Lower Towamensing Township. Eckhart was found in the home, along with methamphetamine and U.S. currency and items used in the packaging of drugs for sale. The investigation involved Carbon and Lehigh counties.

Serfass told Eckhart, under state sentencing guidelines, based on the charges and her prior record, she faces a minimum prison term of anywhere between 15 and 21 months up to 240 months.

Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.
