Woman charged after she threatens to kill another woman over child dispute

A Jim Thorpe woman faces multiple charges after she threatened to kill another woman over a child dispute.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman Ryan Oldt of the Coaldale Police Department:

On Oct. 7, the victim received multiple messages from Jessica Yeakel, 38, of the 1200 block of Fern Street, who used to reside with her in Coaldale.

The messages went into detail about how she will harm the victim if she doesn’t allow Yeakel to see her daughter.

The victim told Yeakel that she was having her arrested, and Yeakel said, “That would be your worst mistake you’re a dead (expletive) now.”

Yeakel again texted the victim, stating, “Remember (expletive) I can pick lock’s so I’ll just wait till you are sleeping shoot you and take (the child).”

Police said Yeakel went into more detail through other texts what she was going to do, and sent out other text messages threatening to harm the victim and make their daughter watch while Yeakel does it.

At 11 p.m. Oct. 9, Oldt contacted Yeakel and advised her not to have any contact with the victim or her daughter, and that also meant not to have third party contact.

Yeakel faces charges of terroristic threats; harassment; and disorderly conduct.

Yeakel also faces charges in a separate case.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman James E. Bonner of the Coaldale Police Department:

At 3:30 p.m. Oct. 10, the same victim came to the Coaldale Police Department to reported that she received threatening messages from Yeakel, her ex.

The victim said Yeakel has been charged with crimes of access device fraud, and that she is the victim, noting that bail conditions were set and there was not to be any contact with her.

The victim said that she has received threats from Yeakel, and that Oldt filed terroristic threats charges against her.

The victim said that she received threats from Yeakel threatening to kill her while her young daughter watched, and further said that “she is mad that she went to the police, and that she will pay for that, adding that the police are a joke anyway.”

Bonner contacted Oldt, who said he spoke with Yeakel and advised her that charges were filed, and told her not to have any contact with the victim.

While Bonner was interviewing the victim, Yeakel sent texts again, stating again she was going to kill her and her daughter was going to watch.

For that incident, Yeakel faces charges of retaliation against witness, victim or party; terroristic threats; and stalking.

Yeakel is incarcerated in the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $25,000, 10 percent bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Nov. 12 before District Judge Stephen J. Bayer of Tamaqua.
