Woman faces bad check charge
Brianna Kroboth, 20, Palmerton, faces charges for theft of services and bad check.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Brian White of the borough police department:
A representative from the Sokol Hall at 452 Delaware Ave. arrived at the police station on Dec. 11 to file a worthless checks complaint.
A check was drawn on an account from First Northern Bank & Trust to the Sokol Hall in the amount of $285 for rental of the Sokol Hall on Sept. 9.
White attempted to contact Kroboth and was met by a man who told White that the payment would be made to the Sokol Hall after Christmas.
On Jan. 11, White spoke with the Sokol Hall representative, who said that no payment has been received.
Kroboth is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28 before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.
