Woman hit by vehicle in Palmerton

A woman was injured after being struck by a vehicle as she attempted to cross a street in Palmerton Friday afternoon.

The incident is believed to have occurred at 12:56 p.m. in the vicinity of the 600 block of Delaware Avenue.

The woman, whose identity was not released, had to be flown to a trauma center for her injuries.

Palmerton police said the incident remains under investigation.

Police said they would release more information at a later date.
