Woman is jailed after Ross Township incident

Andrea Lohman, 43, of Saylorsburg, was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, on charges of aggravated assault after an incident at 6:44 p.m. Aug. 16 along Milton Lane in Ross Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said they were summoned there for a domestic/mental health incident. As police explained mental health options to Lohman, police said she attempted to attack a female relative and needed to be secured by troopers on the scene.

Police said while a trooper was attempting to place the woman in the police cruiser, she proceeded to spit on, kick and bite the officer.
